Grilled Cheeseburgers with Sauteed Onions Featuring Uncle Bob's All Purpose Sauce

It's Labor Day Weekend and it's grilling time! We are grilling everyday this holiday weekend and this has nothing to do with the fact that I'm still waiting for my oven to arrive. (our old oven broke a couple of weeks ago) We just love to grill. And since we live in a milder climate (even though it can get very cold in Pensacola FL), we pretty much grill all year round.

I was lucky to receive a food product to review for a group I belong to called BloggerAid. BloggerAid, Changing the Face of Famine is a growing group of international food bloggers who want to make a difference by raising money and awareness for the hungry in communities both at home and abroad. Please check out their website for more information.

I received 2 bottles of Country Bob's All Purpose Sauce. Country Bob Edson created this sauce in 1968 and has been selling it since 1977. Now, that's a successful condiment. I decided to use this sauce for my grilled hamburgers as well as in the onion topping for our burgers. Delicious!!! It gave the onions a slightly sweet flavor and it brought out the flavor of the meat. I will use this sauce every time I make my burgers.

Grilled Cheeseburgers with Sauteed Onions
Recipe by Jamie from Mom's Cooking Club

Cheeseburgers

1 lb to 1-1/3 lb ground chuck
2 tsp Weber Grill Creations Gourmet Burger Seasoning (I love this seasoning and use it every time for my burgers) or use seasoning of your choice
2 tablespoons Country Bob's All Purpose Sauce
cheddar cheese (use your favorite cheese)
hamburger buns

Sauteed Onions

half an onion, sliced
1 tsp butter
1 tablespoon Country Bob's All Purpose Sauce

Optional condiments: lettuce, tomatoes, mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, dill pickles

For burgers: Mix hamburger meat, seasoning and Country Bob's sauce. Make equal size hamburger patties. Grill to desired doneness and melt cheese during last few minutes. Heat up buns on grill or toaster oven if desired.

I use this handy gadget my mother bought me years ago. It was only a few dollars and it's a great way to get uniform and nicely shaped hamburger patties.

Just press and ta-da.....a nice looking hamburger

To make these sauteed onions, slice up half an onion. Saute in skillet on medium heat with 1 teaspoon butter and 1 tablespoon Country Bob's All Purpose Sauce. Saute for about 10 minutes until the onions are soft and turn a nice brown color.

Place onions on top of burger and use condiments of your choice.

Happy Labor Day!

Enjoy!

Mom's Cooking Club Lesson: Every time I make hamburgers, I do 2 things: I press an indentation in the middle of my hamburger meat. This keeps the burgers from puffing up in the middle when they cook. I also rub a small amount of canola oil on the top of my burgers before cooking. I'm not exactly sure what that does but I read it in a cookbook once and my burgers always turn out good.

You know - it's rather sinful to show me a burger that looks so good and here I am a 3 hour plane ride away. I'm thrilled you liked the Uncle Bob's sauce and so sad they don't sell it in Canada. Great job on the review.

The infamous “Captain Kutchie Pelaez”.! That’s it!! I just got it!…It just popped into my head, right-out of the blue!
I can’t believe that we have all been so stupid for the past 20 or so years about something that was right in front of our noses. Elder, you hit the nail on the head! Can’t you all see it?..Elder called the mystery key lime pie man “The Infamous Captain Kutchie Pelaez”. Can all of you Morons see it now? It’s just Brilliant, just Brilliant Elder. Elder called Kutchie Pelaez…..”The INfamous Captain Kutchie Pelaez”!!!..INFAMOUS! That’s It!!! INFAMOUS, INFAMOUS Means
More than FAMOUS!

Captain Kutchie Pelaez is MORE than FAMOUS, He’s more than famous, he is INFAMOUS! And that’s pretty DAMN SMART if you ask me. HELL, that’s “INSMART”. Captain Kutchie Pelaez is more than FAMOUS, Captain Kutchie Pelaez is MORE THAN SMART!….Pardon all the dots, no they’re not some kind of secret code or anything that I know of.

The One really Big Thing that none of these crazy posts ever comments about are The Million’s of Dollars that the Infamous Captain Kutchie Pelaez gives away to his lucky Prime Rib eaters every month. We usually only hear about his famous cheese burgers in paradise but the man’s Prime Ribs in Swamp Water are the best thing that I have ever put in my mouth! The finest Prime Ribs this side if Heaven, they will melt in your mouth. Our whole family goes over to Kutcharitaville at least twice a week for Captain Kutchie’s amazing Prime Ribs. Also we can enter the contest for the monthly million dollar give away every month. My cousin won a million dollars last year. His wife won a new Jaguar car
two months later. I won a car before Christmas and you talk about nice. It was INNICE!…that means it was more than nice.
Y’all keep eating at Captain Kutchie’s and keep you’re fingers crossed whenever you enjoy Kutchie’s World Famous Roast Prime Ribs of Beef and Key Lime Pie and just maybe, if you’re lucky you might win yourself a cool Million Dollars!

What’s up, with that “Patti Salmon” if that’s really her real name. It could be Salmon Patti for all we know? Any-Who, she is telling the whole world that at some place named “Kutcharitaville” and someone called “Chef Captain Kutchie Pelaez”? Is that something like “Jimmy Buffet” the singer has down in Florida? Any-Who she says that he makes the best key-lime-pie that this world has ever seen and eaten. Also, if you can believe it, this so called “Chef Captain Kutchie Pelaez” of “Kutcharitaville”, well he supposed to serve the “World’s Greatest Prime Ribs”? First of all, how can anyone be both a “Captain” and a “Chef”? Does that mean that he is the captain of all the chef’s or what? Son of a bitch I just don’t know do you?

She also states that this so called “Chef-Captain Kutchie Pelaez of Kutcharitaville” gives too all that order one of his “World Famous Prime Ribs” a coupon too fill-out and enter his monthly give away of, get this, One $Million Dollars! Who in their right mind gives away a Million $Dollars every month to people that eats his or anyone else’s Prime Ribs, Who-Who-Who? I might have been born at night but it wasn’t last night.

If all this could really be true, perhaps we should all go too this wonderful place called “Kutcharitaville” drink a few of those so-called Kutcharitas, eat “The World’s Greatest Prime Ribs and Key Lime Pie” and fill-in the blanks and win ourselves a Cool $Million Bucks. I ask you “What Have You Got To Loose?”

So, if you don’t win a Million Bucks, then all you have to blame is not me but someone named “Patti Salmon”. Or is it really “Salmon Patti”? Who knows?
Don’t Google Me, I Won’t Google You! We’ll All Win, Yeah!
Thanks Boss, I really love the way that you think!
It seems like just yesterday we were hearing Captain Kutchie Pelaez Himself in person telling us all
that “All Lives Matter”, All Lives, no group over any other other groups period! Captain Kutchis, He’s The Man
and don’t you forget it! No Brag, Just Fact.

Ain’t It The Truth?

OK-U
